Siebel Universal Customer Master Applications: For any successful CRM implementation, dependency is on each customer having only one identity across various applications. 

Siebel Universal Customer Master Applications (Siebel UCM Applications) provide a Siebel platform that functions as the master file for an organization’s enterprise wide customer information  

Case: X is big organization with its business A1, A2, A3 etc, now the hypothetical scenario is that they all implement Siebel sales, Services and Marketing. And now no two organizations have same DB so there is redundancy of all customer profile

The Siebel Universal Customer Master is a Siebel platform configured to store a clear and unified profile for enterprise customers, partners, and prospects. Traditional customer data such as Accounts, Contacts, Households, Partner, and Agent data is included as well as customer relationship information, address information, and asset information.

 

The Siebel Universal Customer Master interacts within an enterprise architecture by integrating with key back-office systems to act as the master record for the customer-specific subset of an organization’s data

The Siebel Universal Customer Master is based on the Siebel party data model. This model uses a single-party entity to represent organizations, positions, user lists,contacts, and employees and is implemented with Siebel extension tables. Each record of the party data model table can have complex hierarchical relationships with other parties.

    Good afternoon:  At my company we are trying to accomplish the migration of them information of the accounts of the inheritances to the UCM, the problem that we have is than the generation of improve her a very bad performance is having versions.  Loads are lasting to 6 hours for each 50,000 records, which one would be the problem and what solution would be able to take effect

    We are currently using Siebel UCM 7.8.1 and during next year we planned to go for Upgrade to 8.1
    I would like to know about the New features added in Siebel UCM 8.1,This information helps us in analyzing benefits we get post Upgrade

    Hi All,
    The major enhancements in Siebel UCM 8.1 with reference to 7.8 are as below:
    1). The Data Quality module has become more refine now. We need not call any webservice for invoking Trillium. We have an OOB business service i.e. UCM Data Quality Manager which provides us with methods Cleanse and Match for performing data quality activity.
    2). The second important thing is regarding Privacy. UCM 8.1 provides OOB connector for Integrating Haley Business Rules which was previously called through webservice.
    3). The UCM 8.0 onwards has provided Transaction History view which stores the audit trail for Contacts, Accounts, Financial Accounts and Households.
    4).In Siebel 8 onwards you can now change component parameters and the parameter change is applied without having to restart the component. You can also set components to "Manual Start" through the click of a button to prevent them starting up automatically when the server starts. Components and Tasks can be paused and resumed.
    5). In Siebel Tools, there are new Siebel Operation Steps in workflows including: 
    a) QueryBiDirectional: Essentially this means you can execute query in forward backward mode 
    b) NextRecord/PrevRecord: You can now query and scroll through multiple records.

    You can now view and edit the workflow steps through just left clicking the workflow step, you no longer have to right click and select from the right click menu. You can now deploy and activate the workflow from Siebel Tools.
     
    These are few enhancements. These changes are more visible when you are working on particular functionality and find that this is part of enhancement.

    This was great, it is exactly what I need to give me an brief overview of Siebel UCM.  I need this because I support Siebel, but I don’t get to use any new Siebel technology.  We are on an very old version of Siebel. Version 7.7.2.9, I need to upgrade my Siebel skills to get back out on the market.  Again thanks for the overview.

    Can anyone tell me what is the proper project plan mix (between requirements, analysis/design, coding and implementation)  for Siebel UCM 8.x ?
