Oracle Database Enterprise Edition Version 22.214.171.124
Problem Statement : Indexes are not picking parallel processes while execution of impdp utility
Parallelism is used for loading user data, package bodies and for building indexes.
It was noticed that the indexes are not created in parallel, since there is only one worker process executing this task.
The parallelism in index creation is actually referring to the IO slaves that are used to create a single index
When this index is defined with a parallel degree greater than one, the creation of indexes in parallel has been addressed in the below mentioned Enhancement Request
Bug 5629423 – DATAPUMP DOES NOT CREATE THE INDEXES IN PARALLEL
This enhancement was implemented as a bug fix.
Please download generic patch 22273229 (available for 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52).
If any further help required, please raise an Oracle SR.
This functionality will be built into future releases as well as per Oracle guidelines.
